Terms of Use

Last reviewed: 2026-09-28

Effective 28 September 2026.

These terms apply to the website pause-moment.com and to the Pause Moment Android app (together, "Pause Moment"). Pause Moment is made and operated by Ezra Halevi, an individual developer based in Israel ("we"). By using the website or installing the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Pause Moment.

What Pause Moment is, and is not

Pause Moment is a wellness and productivity tool. At times you choose, it locks your phone screen for a duration you set and shows a photo and words you picked. It is a behavioral aid for showing up to a moment you planned.

Pause Moment is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is not a substitute for a doctor, pharmacist, therapist, or emergency service. Nothing in the app or on the website is medical advice. Decisions about medication, including whether and when to take it, belong to you and your prescriber. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line; the app's Safe People feature dials contacts you chose and is not an emergency service.

A pause can be interrupted by an incoming call and by the emergency options inside the pause. Do not rely on Pause Moment in any situation where being unable to use your phone for the pause duration could cause harm.

Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your own use, under these terms and Google Play's terms. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, and not to use it in any way that breaks the law or harms others. The app, its design, name, and content are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. Third-party product names that appear on the website belong to their owners.

Purchases and refunds

The app offers a free tier and paid features sold through Google Play Billing. Prices are shown in Google Play in your local currency and can change; a change never affects a purchase you already made. Google Play is the merchant of record: its Terms of Service and refund policy govern payment, cancellation, and refunds. A subscription renews until you cancel it in Google Play. Beyond Google's policy, we do not offer refunds, except where the law where you live requires them.

Your content and your data

The photos, words, schedules, and contacts you put into the app stay on your device and remain yours. We claim no rights in them and we do not receive them. What the app and the website do collect is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. You are responsible for backing up your device; uninstalling the app deletes its data.

Age

Pause Moment is for adults. You must be at least 13 to use it, and if you are under 18 you need a parent's or guardian's permission. If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for agreeing to terms like these, that age applies.

Website content

Articles on pause-moment.com are informational and are written and maintained under the Editorial Policy and Medical Review Policy. They cite research so you can check it yourself. They are not medical advice and do not create a clinician relationship. Comparison pages describe other products as accurately as we can on the date shown; those products change, and their makers are not affiliated with us. Tell us about any error at [email protected] and we will correct it.

No warranty

Pause Moment is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the app or the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, or that a pause will start, hold, or end at an exact time on every device and Android version. Android manufacturers change how background apps and alarms behave; we work to keep up with them, but we cannot guarantee the result on every phone.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, for lost data, or for any harm arising from a missed or late pause, from relying on the app for a health-related routine, or from being unable to use your phone during a pause. Our total liability to you for all claims connected with Pause Moment is limited to the amount you paid us through Google Play in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law where you live.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live applies to you, and nothing in these terms takes those rights away. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts, you keep that right.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Subject to the section on your statutory rights, the courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes connected with Pause Moment. Before starting any proceeding, please write to [email protected]; most problems are fixed within a few days.

If you live in the United States

You and we agree to resolve any dispute connected with Pause Moment through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either of us can bring an individual claim in small-claims court. Arbitration is on an individual basis: no class actions, class arbitrations, or representative proceedings. The arbitration takes place by video, telephone, or written submissions unless the rules require otherwise, and we will pay any filing fee the rules assign to the consumer. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days after you first accept these terms; opting out does not affect any other part of these terms. This section is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Pause Moment at any time by uninstalling the app. We can suspend or end your licence if you break these terms. Sections on ownership, warranty, liability, and disputes survive.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top is updated and the new version is published here. Material changes to the app terms are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Pause Moment after a change means you accept the new terms.
